At a time when the shipping industry was flourishing in Greece, he recognized the opportunity for specialized coating services. 2000
Company founded by Ismail Giourouk in Xanthi with a vision for the highest quality standards in surface technology.
After just three years, Giourouk established itself as a major player in the regional shipping industry. Through consistent quality work and absolute reliability, the company gained the trust of local shipyards and shipping companies. These early successes confirmed Ismail Giourouk's philosophy and laid the foundation for sustainable growth. The reputation for excellence quickly spread throughout the close-knit maritime community.
2003
Establishment as a trusted partner in the Greek shipping industry through consistent quality and reliability.
The founding of Giourouk GmbH in Hamburg marked the first major expansion step into other European countries. The strategically important location at Europe's second largest container port opened up access to international markets and demanding customers. This expansion demonstrated courage and foresight, as it set new standards for quality and service in a competitive market and paved the way for further international activities.
2008
Expansion into Germany with the founding of Giourouk GmbH in Hamburg for the European market.
The arrival of the next generation marked an important turning point for the family business. Moustafa and Chousein Giourouk brought with them modern business approaches and new ideas, while respecting the established family values. This combination of tradition and innovation strengthened the company and laid the foundations for future expansion into new markets and technologies. The family tradition was successfully passed on to the next generation.
2012
Moustafa and Chousein Giourouk join the family business and bring fresh perspectives with them.
The entry into the superyacht market marked Giourouk's rise into the premium segment. Yacht owners' highest quality standards demanded perfection in every detail. These demanding projects sharpened Giourouk's skills and established new standards for surface quality. The international yachting community became aware of the exceptional craftsmanship, leading to a number of prestigious commissions and global recognition.
2016
International recognition through superyacht projects positions Giourouk as a premium provider of luxury surface solutions.
After the death of the company founder, Moustafa and Chousein took over full management of the company and continued his legacy with fresh vision. They combined traditional family values with modern business practices and developed strategic plans for international expansion. The proven recipe for success "Work + Quality = Success" remained, but was translated into contemporary strategies and the slogan "The Power of Quality".
2019
After Ismail Giourouk's death, his sons take over full management of the company with a new strategic vision.
The launch of COATER as the "Giourouk Company" marks a strategic realignment for global markets. Maintaining the family tradition, the portfolio expands to aviation, aerospace, building, chemical and infrastructure worldwide. This reorganization combines proven Giourouk quality standards with innovative technologies for new industries. The international expansion honors the family heritage, while COATER as a modern brand stands for the highest level of surface protection expertise.
